Quantitative Assessment of Impact of Climate Change and Human Activities on Streamflow Changes Using an Improved Three-Parameter Monthly Water Balance Model

Understanding the impact of climate change and human activities on hydrological cycle any watershed can provide a scientific basis for regional water resource planning, flood management, disaster mitigation. An improved three-parameter model (CM) based monthly balance using an exponential equation to depict distribution groundwater storage capacity was developed evaluated. The uses Asian Precipitation Highly Resolved Observational Data Integration Towards Evaluation (APHRODITE) rainfall data as input, with Zhejiang Province case application, effects streamflow changes were assessed by separating environmental variables in this study. results indicate that APHRODITE has excellent accuracy, mean correlation coefficient (CC) more than 0.96 average absolute percentage bias (Pbais) less 5%. three models are relatively close their ability simulate high flows, but CM simulated low flow is better other two models. Positive negative Pbais phenomena occur each catchment, levels regulated Furthermore, model’s Nash efficiency (NSE) greater 0.9, indicating it correctly fulfill balance. consistent throughout multiple catchments Budyko-based technique evaluate influence streamflow.
